Palm oil / Grease on fabric / sofa
- 1Scrape off excess oil gently with a spoon. Do not rub.
- 2Cover the spot with cornstarch or talcum powder and leave for 15 minutes to absorb the oil.
- 3Brush off the powder, then dab with warm water and a drop of dishwashing liquid.
- 4Blot with a clean cloth from the outside of the stain inward.
- 5Repeat the soap and blot cycle until the mark fades, then dab with plain water to rinse.
⚠ Never pour hot water directly on the fabric. It sets the oil deeper.

Golden rule for every stain: blot, never rub, and start with the gentlest method. When a stain survives two attempts, stop. Repeated attacks set stains and damage fibres. That is when professional extraction saves the item.
